China, the land of the unknown or unprecedented possibilities?
| There is a lot of talking and fantasizing about trading with China. It is and will always be a country with a lot of challenging possibilities. Only the minority actually goes in business with China, usually by third parties – these are the residing importers – to reduce the amount of risks. This is not a common dilemma for no reason: Do I do it directly or is a compromise with an importer acceptable and profitable enough? It is also an actual problem when business does not go as planned, for example, if you have paid much or everything and your Chinese partner suddenly does not seem to understand anything about earlier compromises regarding quality and delivery.
| We can be short on the subject of delivered quality from China; in the end you decide it mostly by yourself. This has everything to do with the price-quality ratio, what you want and how much you want to or can pay. Quality has a certain price, also in China! Average to large numbers are continually the base in this. China is far away, the language incomprehensible, the culture completely different en thus often hard to understand for us, people from the west. Trading with China demands patience and imagination, but moreover, respect for and knowledge of the Chinese customs and traditions.
